This week, our Jackson CEO students had the privilege of visiting Mayor Carolyn Harvey and several members of the City of Carbondale Governmentstaff. It was an inspiring and informative experience!

Our students heard directly from leaders who keep the city moving each day:
• Tara Brown, Human Resource Director
• Jeff Davis, Finance Director
• Laurie Chamness, Civic Center Manager
• Jennifer Sorrell, City Clerk

Each shared valuable insight into their roles, responsibilities, and the importance of public service in building a strong community.

A special highlight was spending time with Mayor Carolyn Harvey, who made history as the first African American woman to serve as Mayor of Carbondale. Her leadership, story, and commitment to the city continue to inspire the next generation of CEOs and changemakers.

Thank you to Mayor Harvey and the entire City Hall team for investing in our students and helping shape their understanding of leadership, service, and community impact! 🏛️
